Daniel 9A- Daniel’s prayer & Gabriel’s arrival
I preached this message at the Greek Church in Kingsgrove in Aug 25.
As we journey through the magnificent book of Daniel. It becomes obvious, that this is a masterpiece work, of layered prophecy. With each prophetic vision laid out you can see the integrated nature of the prophecies. Detail upon detail with each vision adding to the labyrinth. But when you take a summary overview look the basic structure of the book is simple. We have 5 great kingdoms, the 1st 4 of which cover the period of time Jesus called the Times of the Gentiles. Babylon, Medo-Perisia, Greece, Rome (P I & II). From 606BC up until the coming of the King in power. Then Jesus will sit on the throne in Jerusalem for an opening 1000-year prologue. Followed by His eternal kingdom. The rest of scripture must be understood in the light of this historical agenda predicted by God. Many Christians don’t understand this basic model given by God through Daniel. And as a consequence they fall into error interpreting many parts of Scripture.
Daniel 9B – Seventy Sevens – Backbone of Bible prophecy
I preached this message at the Greek Church in Kingsgrove in Sept 25.
This is the critical prophetic passage of Scripture. If you misinterpret these 70 weeks (or sevens), you will struggle with all end times bible prophecy.
Daniel 9:1-23
We investigate the incredible prayer of Daniel. The secret to the success of the great men and women of God, is that they are/were all people of prayer. At the climax of this prayer, the mighty herald Gabriel arrives in person and gives an answer bigger and better than Daniel could have imagined.
Daniel 9:24-27
Daniel chapter 9 – Backbone of Bible Prophecy – Gabriel’s 70 sevens (490 prophetic years).
ESSENTIAL PROPHETIC TEACHING. Gabriel’s fantastic prophecy of 70 weeks of years, or 490 years. This is the backbone of all Biblical eschatological prophecy. If you misunderstand this prophecy, you will have no hope of understanding end times prophecy. This prophecy predicted the timing of the revealing of Messiah, the death of Messiah, the destruction of the Temple, the heritage of the Antichrist, the length of Antichrists reign, & the timing of when Antichrist will commit the abomination that causes desolation.
Daniel 9
What is the Abomination of Desolation? And perhaps just as importantly, we’ll investigate what it’s not. We’ll trace the Biblical origins of this term. Lay down all the Bible says on this topic. Then dismantle all the false and wild attempts at interpreting what it is. At the conclusion, I’ll give the most likely Biblical candidate, for what is the Abomination of Desolation. It must be a replication of the Antiochus desolation. It is associated with the Holy of Holies in the Temple at Jerusalem. It’ll be linked with a coming Roman Prince (or ruler). It’ll occur in the mid point of Daniel’s final 7 year prophecy. It has to occur after AD70, it’s something for the disciples of Jesus to watch out for. It can only occur after the Gospel has been preached in all the world. It can only occur after a shattering of the power of the people of Israel. And its occurrence is near to a time of general resurrection, and is linked with a time of the greatest tribulation in human history.
