Ephesians 6

In Ephesians 6 (the last study in our Ephesians series) Paul will complete his teaching, relating to submission, headship & authority. Children are to obey (that is – submit to) the authority of their parents. Children are to honour their parents. Paul is solidifying the importance of the family unit. God’s building blocks for a cohesive & good society. Parents aren’t to abuse their authority by provoking their children. Parents are responsible for bringing their children up in the faith of Christ. Servants should obey their masters, & masters should treat their servants fairly.

Paul’s final major instruction in this Epistle is for believers to put on the whole armour of God. As we war against unseen, powerful – demonic forces. 3 times – Paul commands that we believers stand. Our waste girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, having our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Firmly holding the shield of faith. Protecting our mind with the helmet of salvation, rightly wielding the sword of the Spirit. & praying always – in the Spirit.
