James 3
In James 3 we learn, that teachers will be more strictly judged by God. So if you’re not a teacher don’t try to be & if you are make sure you don’t deliver 2nd rate – ramblings when you teach. We all stumble at times, but this doesn’t provide us with an excuse to live carnally. Bits in horses mouths, & rudders on ships, are strategically placed small devices designed to control great powers. We need to ensure, bits & rudders are strategically placed to control our own worst impulses. The human tongue is a fire a potential world of iniquity, destruction & power. Our tongues can be used – to praise & bless God. & it can be used – to spitefully curse men. We love to tame wild beasts but none of us has ever been able, to fully tame our tongues. James reprimands us, my brethren, these things ought not to be so. A good spring does not bring forth fresh water & salt water. The bridles need adjusting in our mouths. Only Christ-likeness should come from Christians. Discard earthly, sensual wisdom, & live in the freely available – Godly wisdom promised from above.
