2 Peter 3 – Peter predicts the world will come to an end by melting in a great inferno, leading to the day of God, that is a new heaven & earth with no stain of sin, no hint of evil, no remaining curse of God. How should we live, in the light of this soon coming day?

We get an interesting perspective comparing time as we experience it & time as God experiences it. For God – 1000 years is like a day, 1000 years is a tiny passage of time for a timeless being. For One existing outside of time, time becomes less important, less immediate.
