James 1

James 1 – this is the 1st in a 5 part teaching series through this epistle, written by the half brother of Jesus. James the Just, who gives very practical instructions for followers of Christ. He wrote this letter to the 12 tribes of Israel. But we gentiles reading his instructions, also receive great blessing & guidance from his wisdom.

Be doers of the word, we are not to be hearers only, is a wonderful example of this wisdom.

Also – be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, & be kind to widows & orphans.
