Exodus 4 – 3 signs of YHWH’s power over Egypt’s gods
In Ex 3 we read about Moses & the burning bush. When God called Moses, his response was to say, who am I?! 80-year-old Moses is very reluctant to accept a calling from God. The promise, & hope, & vision of his youth has dried up. 40 years in the Arabian wilderness had worn him down. The best years of his life, are behind him. God’s response to Moses: It doesn’t matter who you are. It matters who I am. & God declared, I am who I am. Then he shortened His name simply to – I AM. Your failings & deficiency Moses, won’t stop Me (God), from accomplishing great things through you. Well – Moses wasn’t persuaded by this thinking from God. Moses was so worried about what could happen, he failed to listen to what God told him would happen. & we see Moses continuing to resist his calling in Ch 4.
