Sibling rivalry followed by jealousy, followed by disobeying God, followed by murder, followed by petulance directed towards God. Sin is like a crouching lion, poised, ready to strike and overpower anyone who opens the door of their life to sin. Cain was a religious man, he wanted to come to God on his terms. He offered God the work of his hands, a bloodless sacrifice, which God rightly rejected. Salvation comes only through the blood of the Lamb of God, &amp; that is why the best of the flock (the fat of the crop), the firstborn, spotless lamb was to be offered to God. Suggesting he was a great man of God that inspired others to worship God. Teaching us that after a great tragedy, God can bring about a new and wonderful hope.
